Kerry Mc Keon Essay Writing Competition

Eastern harps GAA club are once again delighted to launch the Kerry McKeon essay writing competition 2019 for 5th and 6th class pupils in the Eastern Harps area. The schools involved in the competitions are Cloonloo N.S., Monesteraden N.S., Mullaghroe N.S., Carn N.S., Culfadda N.S, Keash N.S, Corrigeenroe N.S. We would like to thank you in advance for your co-operation in allowing our club to run this competition in your school this year and for the last number of years.

The Kerry McKeon perpetual trophy was won last year by Grainne O Beirne from Cloonloo National school. 
The runner-up for last year was Joseph Kielty from Culfadda National School 

The competition is going from strength to strength each year and we are looking forward to increasing this further in 2019. For this year’s competition we will have a winner from each school who will each receive a prize, along with the overall winner and a runner up.

Competition details are as follows:

Essay title;  An eventful day in My life (total word count 400 words max.)

Essay can be written on any type of paper, copybook or A4 sheets

Closing date Friday 10th May 2019 (Please ensure that essays are ready for collection on that date)

Winners will be announced at the beginning of June 2019

The essays will be independently judged by an external examiner.
