Our U16 girls had their first game of the season this evening away to Owenmore Gaels GAA Club in Connolly Park.


Our girls started brightly and were 1-02 ahead after 10 minutes.  However, the physically stronger girls from the Gaels began to take control after this period and went on to lead at half-time.


This pattern continued in the second half but our girls stuck to their task admirably throughout and finished the game strongly. It was not enough however to effect the result and the Gaels girls were deserving winners at the final whistle.  


Even though it was a disappointing defeat for our girls, there were plenty reasons for optimism for the season ahead.  With a few more training sessions completed and some more time with their new coaches, more positive results will surely come in the very near future.
